SRI LANKA

May 2008

srilankaHalf way between earth and paradise, Sri Lanka charms even the most stubborn ones. Hit by a devastating tsunami in 2004 and constant threats by Tamil tigers, Sri Lanka is not overly touristy place. The danger however is nil. Threat of "terrorists" is perhaps more present in media then in reality, more likely you will be hit by a racing bus or truck. Southern area is more or less being rebuilt now, with aid of many countries, though judgment day is still present in peoples minds.

Sri Lanka has it all. Great beaches for relaxing and getting that bronze tan, palms, hills, tea, elephants, birds, great food, you name it. Sea is warm, wavy though and swimming might be an adventure in some places. It is a refreshing place, you take it one way or the other.

And waves her woods above the watery waste
