ROME

November 2006

RomeRome is not such a big city. We walked it in couple of days. That was a big surprise, though you never run out of things to see. One of the coolest things is that you never know whether your hitting an ancient old rock that Julius Cesar once walked on, or just a part of concrete that fell off of lousily made wall from a next-door supermarket. Driving around the city it's fascinating that at one time you gaze at beauty (or ugliness) of all-glass made hotel built couple of months ago, and then the next thing you see is a 2000 years old building (or what left from it) they call Colosseo.

We're not religious people, but when standing at St Peter's basilica doorstep, we couldn't help feeling humble and in awe. Vatican as a whole is something you have to admire, no matter the religion you take or don't, it is a superb place.
